About Mark Cannon

Mark Cannon is a PhD Scientist who worked for around 35 years in the Aerospace Research Labs at Wright Patterson AFB in Dayton, Ohio. During those years, he found time to read widely in his second area of interest; military history. The University of Dayton conducts an adult education program for seniors over 50, known as the Lifelong Learning Institute. Mark has taught courses on the American Revolution, The American Civil War, WWI and WWII as well as biographies of Napoleon and Civil War General George H. Thomas. His main fields of expertise are WWII and the American Civil War. He has made extensive use of PowerPoint to create animated battle simulations in his courses which seem to please the students. His battle simulations on this web site have been extracted from those courses.
